Walk on Grass will also automate the process of downloading TLS certificates. If you're using K-Meleon as your primary browser, you can use the Walk On Grass package to open links from the right-click menu or the current page with a toolbar button. That way, if you run across a site that does not work in one of the other browsers, you could decide if you trust the site enough to switch over. I would suggest using this browser as a secondary browser. Note that you will also need separate certificates for this browser like with Chrome itself. This has the best web compatibility out of the list but is unfortunately the heaviest and least secure in several ways. Public Betas were stripped of Qihoo telemetry and advertising and made available by MSFN forum members HummingOwl and ArcticFoxie. It was originally produced by Chinese antivirus developer Qihoo 360 to promote their antivirus software. It's based on Chrome 86 and will run on Windows XP. Mypal 68 is still in beta, so it has some minor stability issues and does not include security patches from later versions of Firefox.ģ60 Extreme Explorer: This is also referred to as 360Chrome or the 360 Browser. It has good web compatibility, it's very quick, and it can use some current Firefox add-ons. The system requirements may be high, but this browser will likely feel the most responsive on this list if you can run it. Mozilla completely rewrote huge pieces of FF after ending support for XP and switching to their rust-based Firefox Quantum. Feodor is currently stabilizing FF68 but has stated plans to continue up the line of ESR releases. Mypal 68: Mypal is now a port of Firefox to Windows XP. Serpent is slightly slower and heavier than New Moon 28. You can get even better web compatibility using "Palefill" to hack extra support in for some newer Google tech. It also has slightly better web compatibility mainly for web app features like full-screen video or notifications. It can use some current FF "Web Extensions" and it can use nearly all of the final releases of the old XUL-based Extensions via the Classic Add-ons Archive. It has much better web compatibility than the last FF release for XP. Serpent 55 takes that concept even further. That browser used the same back end as Pale Moon but with the interface from then-current Firefox 52. Serpent 55: The Pale Moon devs used to also maintain a browser called Basilisk. This has greater security and web compatibility than either FF52 or the final version of Mypal, although it is slightly slower. The Pale Moon devs are continuing to develop and maintain the browser based on the old Firefox XUL code base. Roytam's New Moon 28 is a build of the most recent version of Pale Moon with all of Feodor's Windows XP patches from the old Mypal. The old Mypal was a Windows XP port of Pale Moon. This is a continued project by Roytam who maintains builds of several browsers for Windows XP. Roytam's New Moon 28: If you've heard about the old Mypal and it sounds good, you should try New Moon 28. HTTP-only download mirror for 7-zip 9.2: Second, because it maintains support for very old processors it has stayed on an older JavaScript engine that struggles especially on web app type sites, with support for ES6 comparable to FF48. First, because it's meant to be customizable it looks more basic and raw. K-Meleon supports a vast range of very low-end machines and you can customize almost every aspect of it via config files that you can edit in any text editor. It has current security patches and its customizability means that you can choose to lock it down even more. It's been around since before Chrome, Safari, or even Firefox but it's still updated. K-Meleon: My go-to recommendation for anyone browsing the web on XP is K-Meleon. I've included links to download each web browser plus links to install a solid ad-blocking extension. They are sorted from most secure to least secure or from least compatible to most compatible with the modern web. Here is a brief guide to browsers on Windows XP. I’d love to try out the place that sent Brynn and Sai into a deceitful panic!īeing the nosy amateur investigator that I am, I performed an exhaustive search of every new RHONY Housewife’s Instagram account, combing them for evidence. I understand not wanting this eatery’s poor owners to be caught in Housewives crosshairs, but if anything, I’d think this would be great promo. You may as well burn my apartment building to the ground, that’s the level of joy the producers are stripping from me by redacting this restaurant name. For a snoopy little sleuth like myself, this is extremely frustrating. Every time any of the Housewives utter the restaurant’s name during the episode, the editors have not only bleeped the name, but blurred the women’s mouths, so we can’t read their lips. There’s just one problem: We do not know what restaurant Brynn and Sai were apparently so perturbed by, and Bravo isn’t telling us. Erin hypothesizes that her fellow cast members didn’t want to go to the restaurant she picked out, instead opting for the uber-trendy but still timeless New York staple, Casa Cipriani. But Sai and Brynn told a last-minute fib that they couldn’t make it, and ditched Erin’s dinner for their own ladies' night out-a lie they incriminated themselves in by posting a picture of them together on Instagram. In the weeks prior to filming, Erin had organized a group dinner for the entire cast at a restaurant in the city. However, it blessedly only takes 10 minutes into the episode to get the first controversies of the season underway. It’s awkward, but it’s a hurdle all new Housewives franchises must clear to settle into a groove. Now, we must be party to bestie hangout sessions and play dates that serve as our first glimpse of group dynamics. Gone are the days when we could be eased in slowly, and meet all of these women one by one, with the show winking at it being, well, a show. This may not be a new franchise, but because our cast has shifted entirely, the premiere starts a tad shaky, which is typical of any modern Housewives introduction. In order, we have Brynn Whitfield, a lion-maned, flirty wild child, who is allegedly a marketing consultant, though we see hide nor hair of that Jenna Lyons, the fashion world superstar and former head of J.Crew, now a false lash guru Jessel Taank, a publicist who is very proud of her job Sai De Silva, a content creator, and five-foot-nothing firecracker Ubah Hassan, a beyond gorgeous model and philanthropist and Erin Lichy, a born and bred New Yorker, clearly being primed to be the new Bethenny. Sunday night’s Season 14 premiere starts off with a brief introduction to our new cast of characters. Only God and Andy Cohen know whether or not Bravo’s big swing to revitalize this franchise will pay off, but we can gorilla glue our fingers crossed and see what happens together. Now, we must forge forward with the RHONY that is: an entirely new cast, composed of plucky, determined career women. I’ve done it for too long, and my neck is starting to get a crick in it. Truth be told, it’s not worth looking over our shoulders anymore. Sure, it was still better than most reality television, but the drunken, middle-aged women we knew and loved were now filled with both rage and hyperawareness, a far cry from the starry-eyed, naive ladies who lunched from the show’s beginnings. Devoted audiences spent the next two seasons watching the show slowly deflate, until it was no more than a rubber shell of what it once was. Up until Season 13, RHONY had arguably been Bravo’s most consistent franchise it produced the most drama, the most memes, and the most memorable faces.īut when the show’s guiding light Bethenny Frankel departed the series for a second time ahead of Season 12, it was as if the wheels that had kept the show moving drove over a tack. Looking back, it feels strange that it has only been two years since we saw The Real Housewives of New York bow its head in shame, and putter off our television screens for a then-indeterminate amount of time. What exactly has the remodel entailed and how long has it taken?Īround 2009/2010, Redding was changing and becoming a destination. Q: One of the things that most impresses me about the transformation of the Thunderbird Lodge is the dramatic before and after, because there were some years when the Thunderbird Lodge had fallen on hard times. The original owners of the motel were Jim and Beverly Gunari (along with other partners) whom we bought it from. It was part of the Thunderbird Lodge franchise throughout California. I believe that the motel was built in the late ’50s or early ’60s. My parents bought the business in 1998 and have been operating it since. My family immigrated to the United States from Zambia, Africa, in 1997. The beautiful Cascade Theater, Rite-Aid and Walgreen are just a few minutes walk away …”īut before we get to the remodel, can you tell a bit about yourself and your family who works with you? There’s a good Mexican restaurant, a donut shop, and Japanese Steakhouse just around the property. You could walk to many conveniences nearby. Coffee-maker, hairdryer, refrigerator and ironing needs are available in the room. They make an effort to make the room look nice, the bed is comfortable, basic breakfast and wi-fi included. “I was in Redding for work in downtown location and this place is perfect for the budget I had. Everything is new.Īnd the dining area for a continental breakfast is renovated, too.Īpparently, guests appreciated the improvements as well, because the Redding Thunderbird Lodge has 4-out-of-5 star ratings, and many positive reviews, like this one from a business traveler from Los Angeles: All the rooms at the Thunderbird Lodge have been completely remodeled. Seasonal Spotlight campaigns run alongside another Yelp advertising campaign, either on-platform with Yelp Ads, or off-platform with Yelp Audiences. By leveraging a carousel on the Yelp iOS app homepage, individual posts will appear from brands that allow consumers to learn more about the brand’s holiday campaign and other tentpole moments, including New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, spring cleaning, Denim Day and Tax Day. Today, Yelp also officially announced Seasonal Spotlight Ads aimed at helping multi-location brands drive in-store traffic by communicating directly with Yelp’s high-intent audience about seasonal deals, promotions and new products. “Yelp’s rich data set allows us to target this very specific – and hard to reach – audience both on and off the platform.” “This campaign reinforces to foodservice operators that consumers see brands like HEINZ and Philadelphia as signals of quality in a restaurant,” said Brandon Potter, Head of Brand Marketing, Away From Home at Kraft Heinz. The campaign started as an opportunity for Kraft Heinz to spotlight local business owners in 25 cities that are likely to carry Heinz Ketchup products. To further extend the reach of the campaign, Kraft Heinz will run a Sponsored Collections campaign in November and December. Kraft Heinz’s Yelp Audiences campaign uses ads to drive consideration of Heinz Ketchup and Philadelphia Cream Cheese. In eight weeks, Kraft Heinz has leveraged Yelp Audiences to reach nearly four million Yelp users self-identified as business owners and restaurant operators off the platform, based on reporting provided by The Trade Desk. The business-owner focused campaign is a first for Kraft Heinz. The Kraft Heinz Company is currently working with Yelp on a multifaceted campaign that leverages Yelp Audiences and Sponsored Collections. Sponsored Collections can be customized, enabling advertisers to create meaningful connections with local businesses and consumers.” “These campaigns create a local footprint for a national brand to tell its story at a hyperlocal level by sponsoring a business collection on Yelp that helps support its initiatives. “Sponsored Collections are a win-win for national and local businesses,” said Tom Foran, Yelp’s Senior Vice President and Head of Go-To-Market, National. There is no cost for local businesses to participate in Sponsored Collections, which are currently available on the Yelp iOS app, with an Android experience coming soon. Yelp partners with each advertiser to curate a list of locally owned businesses to support a brand initiative in select markets. Sponsored Collections, which appear on the Yelp iOS app homepage, enable brands, with or without a storefront, the opportunity to showcase local businesses around a common theme. Yelp Sponsored Collections helps national brands better reach a local audience. I couldn't be happier! That's until I noticed that the printed test papers were missing black completely. This was a very difficult operation as I needed to dismantle both printers almost entirely.Īfter reassembling it, the printer started working immediately, with no more "Paper jam" message on the screen. I bought another used printer (different model but with the same 363 ink system mechanism) from which I took the complete metal bar with the rubber rollers and an intact gear and replaced my broken one. This gear was broken so the rubber rollers would no longer rotate and pull the paper. About two months ago it started to display the "Paper jam" message on the screen - there was no paper trapped inside but after a month of investigation I found the culprit: the black toothed plastic wheel from the left of the metal bar holding the four paper pick-up rubber rollers (seen from the back of the printer with the back door - "duplexer"? - removed). I've had my HP Photosmart C6180 (using the same 363 ink system) since 2007 and used it ponderately at home. I believe if I continue for another 5 - 10 printhead cleans, that might make my printer near perfect again!Īlthough I suspect not many others are still using this printer after all these years but I thought I should leave my feedback here on this thread having gained from others' suggestions and had a successful outcome. However that's a huge difference compared to what it was. There's still some faint white lines across the last 2 paragraphs which made the small fonts look a little smudged. My print alignments failed initially (before I did all those printhead cleans) but after my 15th, I did another alignment and IT WAS A SUCCESS! Now, having done my 20th clean, the black prints look almost fine. THOSE BLACK LETTERS AND NUMBERS BECOME CLEARER AND CLEARER EACH TIME AS I PERFORM MORE PRINTHEAD CLEANING. So I kept going and started to number the printout after each clean. To my surprise, after the 4th time, I noticed thicker lines of black letters and numbers were printed and it certainly showed an improvement over the first one. What the heck I thought that if I were to buy a new printer, I would waste all those inks anyway. I remember having read somewhere an advice not to overdo the printhead cleaning as the process might damage the nozzle and it wastes much of the precious color inks. Not willing to give up after spending on a NEW black cartridge with my old one still half full, I went back to the basic "clean printhead' step and DID A FEW TIMES IN A ROW. Each attempt did not seem to resolve the issue straightaway. I diligently read through this forum hoping to find an answer to my problem so I tried all that was suggested. Frustrated - yes but having gone through this forum I count myself lucky for having the printer worked for me for over 7 years. I faced the same issue with my HP Photosmart c7280 just in the last week after I managed to print a few hundreds pages without any problem.
Combining all the late hours and cross-training, I estimate to have worked approximately 400 hours this past summer. I cross-trained twice, once in Village and once in the Carnivore department. On our days off, we had the ability to cross-train in another department. Interns had the same schedule as the keepers which was four 10 hours days per week. This internship was 12 weeks long and was unpaid. And there were many tasks that included diet prepping, cleaning stalls, training of a rhino, hippos, and giraffes, driving an ATV, and assisting with medical procedures. There was a checklist that the keepers would sign off on after I had demonstrated to be proficient at that task. As an intern, I was trained to do basically everything a supervising keeper did. It is the largest ungulates that I got to work with closely and train: rhinos, hippos, and giraffes. Since all of our department’s animals were in the drive-through section of the park, they took care of themselves mostly since grass and water are naturally provided. The word “ungulate” means a hooved animal, so all our creatures (minus a few bird species) were rather large and herbivores. I applied to be an Ungulate intern because that department takes care of the largest groups of animals in physical size and variety. These are Carnivores, Ungulates, Elephants, Village, and Education. Wildlife Safari divides its animals into different departments when it comes to caring for and feeding them. Out of the six zoos I applied to, just one got back to me for an interview, (I bet you can guess which one!). I had a polished resume that included leadership experience from the Honors College and the support of my Honors College professors as references, as well as other community service and leadership activities. And it wasn’t because of a lack of trying or qualifications. I had no idea how competitive applying for and receiving an internship would be. Because of how the SOU academic year worked, the time frame gave me about a month of searching and applying to many zoos around the country before deadlines came or passed. I began my internship search during the winter break of 2021 knowing I wanted an internship in the summer of ‘22. This internship was especially helpful in gaining experience about what it’s like to work in a zoo and interact with a variety of animals. I longed to work in a zoo and make connections with animals and promote their conservation to the public. Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by the natural world, especially animals. My Biology degree has an emphasis on zoology and ecology. Presently, I am a senior at Southern Oregon University studying Biology with a Native American Studies minor and in the Honors College. In the summer of 2022, I was an Ungulate Intern Keeper at the Wildlife Safari Zoo in Winston, Oregon.
